It’s time to do away with the drab elastic top nude cotton knickers and make way for delicate silk, lavish lace and old-fashioned lingerie glamour.

The queen of Burlesque and master of seduction, Dita Von Teese is currently collaborating on a lingerie line with Australian company Lime Door brands.

Whilst both Von Teese and Lime Door have remained tight lipped about specifics, the range due for release later this year is sure to turn heads.

The line will premier in Australia before launching overseas, allowing Australian women to be the first to own the lustrous pieces.

Von Teese, who is famous for her glitzy corsetry and sheer black seemed stockings, said in a release, treating oneself to beautiful lingerie is a sensual and personal experience.

“Indulging in elegant lingerie isn’t about the seduction of another person, it’s about seducing yourself first and embracing womanhood and femininity,” Von Teese said.

The line will range from sizes extra-small to plus sizes to cater for all women petite or voluptuous, with a retro inspired dress range expected to follow.

“I am especially excited to be designing lingerie with a vast sizing range so that women of all shapes and sizes can have a beautiful, sensual lingerie wardrobe that suits their body type,” Von Teese said.

In her book Burlesque and the Art of Teese, Von Teese said there is no such thing as a plain women and it’s all about accentuating your best assets.

“There was a time, after all, when a lady dressed to the nines no matter what her destination,” she said.

“This great girl wore seamed stockings and garter belts every single day.”

The retro-glam styling that Von Teese is famed for has become iconic among women with nearly 70,000 people following her every move on Twitter.

Her illustrious martini glass burlesque routine has gained such notoriety that Cointreau have released a cocktail inspired by her called the MargaDita.

Von Teese reached stardom through seductively peeling off her eye-catching costumes in front of awed audiences, invoking the bump and grind burlesque of the roaring 20’s.

Her popularity signals a return to the embrace of femininity and female sexuality as something empowering and desirable.

Proclaimed “Burlesque Superheroine” by Vanity Fair, Von Teese has become a role model for a generation of women interested in reclaiming old world elegance, grace and glamour.

Having previously collaborated with Wonder bra, and worked at Lady Ruby’s lingerie, Von Teese seems well poised to make clientele feel opulent, desirable as well celebrating the curvy feminine form.
